FOMCI supports the Refuge by contributing funds for seabird research and supporting student interns working on the seabird nesting islands during the summer.

Seabird Nesting Sites

Of the 4,617 coastal islands in Maine, 377 have been designated by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service as nationally significant seabird nesting islands. These islands are under increasing pressure from coastal development and recreational uses.
